Memorial Safety Inspection – WWB Cemetery - Thursday 22nd January 2026

A routine memorial safety inspection was carried out at WWB Cemetery on Thursday 22nd January. During the inspection, it was identified that a number of memorials require action to ensure they remain safe and secure.
Regrettably, 8 memorials were found to be unsafe and had to be laid down to prevent the risk of injury. A further 36 memorials have been identified as requiring remedial action, however these are not currently considered dangerous.
The cemetery will be in touch with the relevant memorial owners where contact details are available to advise on the next steps. Temporary safety measures have been taken where necessary.
