Cemetery Dog Control Notice
The cemetery is a place of respect, reflection, and remembrance.
It is NOT an area for exercising dogs.
Under cemetery regulations and public safety guidelines, all dog owners and handlers must comply with the following requirements while within cemetery grounds.
Requirements for Dog Owners/Handlers
- Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times, unless in a designated off-lead area (if applicable).
- Owners must immediately put a dog on a lead if requested by cemetery staff or other authorised personnel.
- Dog fouling: Owners must carry appropriate means (bags, scoopers, etc.) to clean up after their dog immediately.
- Removal of fouling: All waste must be disposed of in the bins provided or taken off-site.
- Control of behaviour: Dogs must be kept under control at all times. Aggressive or disruptive dogs are not permitted.
- Respect for visitors: Dogs must not cause nuisance or distress to other cemetery visitors.
