Cemetery Notice to Visitors

To maintain the dignity, safety, and peaceful environment of this cemetery, we kindly ask all visitors to observe the following rules in line with the Cemetery Policy.


Permitted Memorial Items

Grave Plots

  • One metal or plastic spiked flower holder, placed in the grass at either side of the headstone (not in front).
  • Firmly fixed porcelain or fragile items (excluding glass) on the plinth.
  • Naturalized spring-flowering bulbs along the length of the grave (these will be mowed after flowering).
  • Non-breakable planters, tubs, vases, and ornaments on the plinth only.
  • Christmas wreaths (removed within two months).

Pathside Plots

  • Items on the headstone must not exceed its circumference.
  • Ornaments, flowers, potted plants, or shrubs must not exceed 300mm (12”).
  • Firmly fixed porcelain or fragile items (excluding glass).
  • Christmas wreaths (removed within two months).

Woodland Plots

  • Designed for ashes in a natural woodland setting.
  • No traditional headstones or memorabilia.
  • Wildflowers and bulbs (non-invasive only) are welcome.

Prohibited Items

The following are not allowed anywhere in the cemetery:

  • Glass items of any kind
  • Spiked solar lights / spiked decorative hanging items / any spiked objects
  • Battery-operated lights or lanterns
  • Porcelain or breakable items not firmly fixed to the memorial
  • Unfixed items (cards, photos, laminated sheets)
  • Planting of invasive species, bushes, shrubs, or trees in the ground
  • Items placed beyond the memorial stone
  • Fences, barriers, netting, edging stones, pebbles, coloured edging, or any boundary markers not installed by the cemetery

Removal of Non-Compliant Items

Prohibited items, and any items placed outside of the headstone/plinth areas, will be removed and stored by the cemetery entrance or shed for a period of 28 days for collection.

We kindly ask all visitors to comply with these guidelines in accordance with Cemetery Policy

to avoid misunderstanding or distress caused by the removal of items.
