Cemetery Committee Issues Warning Over Dog Fouling
23rd of October, 2025
The Cemetery Committee has received numerous complaints from plot holders regarding incidents of dog fouling on and around graves. This ongoing issue has caused considerable distress to those visiting loved ones and is viewed as deeply disrespectful.
The committee would like to remind all visitors that the cemetery is a place for respect, remembrance, and quiet reflection — not an area for dog exercising. While many dog owners act responsibly, the actions of a few are creating an unpleasant and unacceptable situation.
In response to the continued reports, the committee is now considering the introduction of a no dogs policy within the cemetery grounds. This step is being carefully reviewed but will remain under serious consideration if the problem persists.
All dogs must be kept on leads at all times while within the cemetery. Anyone failing to comply will be asked to leave the grounds by order of the Cemetery Committee.
Visitors are asked to treat the cemetery with the dignity it deserves and to ensure that it remains a peaceful and respectful resting place for all.
